       In this issue, we shall discuss about the mount of Mars. This mount is of a three-fold nature, and consists of the mount of mars properly so called, situated under the mount of mercury, between the Heart and Headlines and designated the upper Mars, the lower Mars, situated between the lifeline and mount of Venus and the plain of Mars, which constitutes the center of the palm. Each has its Special influence making this mount a difficult one to comprehend while the difficulty is enhanced because there is no finger representing the Mount.

       The leading characteristics of the Mount when well developed are courage self control, resolution and capability for command.

       In almost all hands, some Martian development is to be found. If the Martian development is absent, they go under in the struggle for existence, no matter how gifted or talented they may be, this type embodies the elements of aggression and resistance, and the Martian is consequently a fighter. Thus wherever they are found, Martians are those who fight, and the Martian disposition is an aggressive one.

       There are two kinds of fighters, those who are the aggressors and force the issue, and those who act in self-defense or resist the pressure brought to bear upon them.

       This separation of Martian qualities is shown in the upper mount of mars (which indicates resistance) and the lower mount of Mars (which shows aggressive spirits) often one will find one of these mounts largely developed and the other small, in which case the subject will have either great aggression or great resistance, according to whether it is the lower or the upper mount that is the larger.

       Quite often, one would find both mounts very largely developed. In this case, you have a large supply of both aggression and resistance, and the subject will push himself forward with great persistence and will also resist vigorously the attempt of anyone to impose upon him

       The strong double mount is a most advanced Martian development and when seen, the subject must be classed as a Martian at once. This type is distinct and unmistakable.

       The plain of mars, if well developed or if crossed by many fine or red lines, will show sudden temper to be present. This development, with the other two mounts large will make a dangerous combination, for it will add inflammability to the already great aggression and resistance.

      The Martian has a good physical constitution. He is energetic and aggressive as well. As a soldier, it also makes him able to endure the fatigue of any campaign. He is indeed pushy in nature and temperament.

       He is exceedingly generous in the use of his money caring for wealth only for what it will buy for him. He loves to have friends and admirers and generally succeeds in gaining them. He is exceedingly devoted to his friends. He loves flattery, he is not always refined nor tactful.

       The Martian can be reasoned with and coaxed, but never driven.

       The opposite sex finds the Martian too hard to resist. Therefore, he is exceedingly amorous, and too intense. He is also domineering, and they are by and large heavy eaters.

       The Martian is found in every walk of life, a strong fellow, proud to a degree, fond of show and loves to flaunt his imposing personality. With pointed fingers they are idealistic, with conic fingers they are artistic and are fond of beauty, with square fingers they are practical and with knotty fingers argumentative. Smooth fingers will add to his love of beauty and make him impulsive and quick. He will be fond of dress, flowers extra.

       The long fingered Martians push and prod, while the short-fingered Martian is fiery and doubly aggressive.
   
     A strong Martian with a well  developed  thumb  with  square or  spatulate tips are  the most successful types and are even more successful if they are blessed with a distinct and clear line of head (line of mentality).
